Psalm 11

1
<> In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee [as] a bird to your mountain?
2
For, lo, the wicked bend [their] bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.
3
If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?
4
The LORD [is] in his holy temple, the LORD'S throne [is] in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.
5
The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.
6
Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: [this shall be] the portion of their cup.
7
For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness his countenance doth behold the upright.

Psalm 12

1
<> Help, LORD for the godly man ceaseth for the faithful fail from among the children of men.
2
They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: [with] flattering lips [and] with a double heart do they speak.
3
The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, [and] the tongue that speaketh proud things:
4
Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail our lips [are] our own: who [is] lord over us?
5
For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the LORD I will set [him] in safety [from him that] puffeth at him.
6
The words of the LORD [are] pure words: [as] silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
7
Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
8
The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.

Psalm 13

1
<> How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?
2
How long shall I take counsel in my soul, [having] sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?
3
Consider [and] hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the [sleep of] death
4
Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him [and] those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.
5
But I have trusted in thy mercy my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
6
I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

Psalm 14

1
<> The fool hath said in his heart, [There is] no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, [there is] none that doeth good.
2
The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, [and] seek God.
3
They are all gone aside, they are [all] together become filthy: [there is] none that doeth good, no, not one.
4
Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people [as] they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.
5
There were they in great fear: for God [is] in the generation of the righteous.
6
Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD [is] his refuge.
7
Oh that the salvation of Israel [were come] out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, [and] Israel shall be glad.

Psalm 16

1
<> Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
2
[O my soul], thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou [art] my Lord: my goodness [extendeth] not to thee
3
[But] to the saints that [are] in the earth, and [to] the excellent, in whom [is] all my delight.
4
Their sorrows shall be multiplied [that] hasten [after] another [god]: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.
5
The LORD [is] the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
6
The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant [places] yea, I have a goodly heritage.
7
I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
8
I have set the LORD always before me: because [he is] at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
10
For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
11
Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence [is] fulness of joy at thy right hand [there are] pleasures for evermore.

1 Corinthians 10

14->
14
Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
15
I speak as to wise men judge ye what I say.
16
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
17
For we [being] many are one bread, [and] one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
18
Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?
19
What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?
20
But I [say], that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.
21
Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.
22
Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
23
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
24
Let no man seek his own, but every man another's [wealth].
25
Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, [that] eat, asking no question for conscience sake:
26
For the earth [is] the Lord's, and the fulness thereof.
27
If any of them that believe not bid you [to a feast], and ye be disposed to go whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.
28
But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth [is] the Lord's, and the fulness thereof:
29
Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another [man's] conscience?
30
For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?
31
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
32
Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:
33
Even as I please all [men] in all [things], not seeking mine own profit, but the [profit] of many, that they may be saved.
